New Year, new adventures and hitting send before I'm 'ready'

Published 3 months ago • 2 min read

Hi Reader

Slightly vulnerable email...

For almost 8 months I have been meaning to do weekly emails loaded with creative inspiration and studio musings but none of that happened because I psyched myself out... yup I kept telling myself I need to update the website first or get the course ready first etc etc. It was the one excuse after another and ALL the online marketing and business training I've been doing had my head in a spin with all the 'best practices' and 'do it this way' or 'avoid these' advice.

I chucked all the well-meaning coaching and advice out the window and decided to just write this honest raw email and hit send... because apparently things will never be 'ready' so I'm taking a leap and just running with it (don't know what 'it' is but I am running)

So welcome to my first Studio Musings newsletter!

(they are supposed to be weekly, they might not be...) (Just me sharing what's news and what I am working on)

(If you couldn't be bothered please don't mark my email as spam please just hit unsubscribe at the bottom - thanx)

What's news:

  • I have a new video on my YouTube channel all about craft heat tools, you can find my channel link below.
  • My in-person classes are resuming in February, for Art Journaling we are going to play with Faber Castell Gelatos and my Abstract Watercolour class has been revamped and will now include mixed media, the link to book is below. All email subscribers get 10% discount this months code is: EMAILJAN10

Most exciting news:

I am launching my first email course this week - Stress-Less Art with Kids: Nurturing art and creativity without the stress and the mess. You can get more info here:

Inspiration for the week:

“If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint’, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.” Vincent van Gogh

Van Gogh is considered one of the most influential artists of all time yet he regarded most of his paintings as failures. And yet he still kept painting.

Painting is a process not an end result. The process of painting and creating is where you reap the benefits. Art and creativity reduce stress, improves self-esteem, reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety, improves brain function and focus and helps you problem solve better. So just pick up the paint and brush and just paint! (or crochet or play with clay or something, just make something)

What am I working on currently:

I have been playing with polymer clay again and I am in the process of making jelly-fish. I am hoping to have a few available for sale mid-February. You will be the first to know so keep an eye out for my news letters

If you have read this far - awesomeness, appreciate you so much!

I'll have more studio musings soon

Have a fabulously creative week!

Theresa
